Apple has warned all iPhone enthusiasts that they may need to wait longer to get the latest top-end models of the iPhone 14 series - the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The reason is the iPhone factory in China that had been shut down due to the coronavirus outbreak. Notably, the abrupt changes in the production cycle of the iPhone 14 Pro models will have a direct impact on the supply chain, not just in China but across the world.
The situation made Apple officially release a statement, which says, "COVID-19 restrictions have temporarily impacted the primary iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max assembly facility located in Zhengzhou, China. The facility is currently operating at significantly reduced capacity. As we have done throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we are prioritizing the health and safety of the workers in our supply chain."
Apple there is strong demand for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models, but sadly, the shipments of these high-end models are expected to be lower than previously anticipated. This simply implies that customers will need to wait for long periods to buy these iPhones. “We are working closely with our supplier to return to normal production levels while ensuring the health and safety of every worker,” Apple added.
This is not the first time production and supply chain problems have arisen for the latest iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max units. Earlier, several analysts and reports have claimed that the production of the newly launched iPhone 14 series will be expanded to some other countries outside China that are less restrictive with COVID shutdowns, such as India.
