Today, December 31, 2021 is the last day for filing Income Tax Returns ) for the financial year 2020-21 (AY21-22) and people have started demanding the extension of the due date. #Extend_Due_Date_Immediately is trending on Twitter.
From the tweets it can be seen that the taxpayers are complaining of technical problems with the ITR portal and hence are further demanding for date extension. The central government had extended the ITR filing due date to December 31 from July 31 earlier in the year.
