The world of Japanese folklore is a dense and dynamic one. In all forms of media, it has been portrayed with so much detail in color covering everything from the mundane to the most fantastical. Ikai focuses on the darker aspects of it by pitting you against numerous evil Yokai that want nothing more than to eliminate the determined priestess.

One of the most notable yokai is the Nozuchi, a furry worm-like creature the size of a large snake. It will pursue you on detection otherwise it will randomly patrol the area. You'll need to face the Nozuchi several times so be prepared for it.
This Yokai is the second one you'll encounter during your mission. After completing the first ritual, you'll be drawn to the sound of praying in the far room of the main building. After finding its source, the Nozuchi will appear and begin chasing you.
Being defenseless, you'll have no choice but to run from the Nozuchi. Although the path you take through the buildings will have changed, it's easy to follow. You simply need to continue forward and go through the openings as they appear, whether it's through a door or window.
There will be moments where you will need to quickly slide a stepping stool beneath a window in order to climb through it and push on a wardrobe in order to unblock a door.
When you reach the second wardrobe, you'll need to push it quickly in order to block out the Nozuchi. This will lead to a room with no way out where you'll need to hide. Head to the dark washroom in the corner and crouch by the door. The Nozuchi will break in and start looking for you. When it goes behind the screen, that's your chance to sneak out the way it came and continue running.
