Hogwarts Legacy will launch on February 10, 2023. This is a delay of a few months, with its initial release window set as holiday 2022. The post announcing the delay does not mention why developers need another few months on the game, simply stating that they need "a little more time to deliver the best possible game experience."
This is the first firm release date given for Hogwarts Legacy, which we haven't heard much about since its huge gameplay reveal in the spring. It's also been confirmed that there is a separate release date for the Switch port, although that is yet to be confirmed.

Hogwarts Legacy's promotional campaign has been met with a mixed reception. While some fans look forward to the upcoming RPG, arguing that players should support the developers, others are more critical, given JK Rowling's repeated transphobia in recent years. Publisher Warner Bros. Games has also defended Rowling's constant attacks on the trans community, saying "she’s entitled to express her personal opinion on social media."
Due to this, some content creators and news outlets have elected to boycott the game when it releases, much like we saw with Activision Blizzard titles when allegations of abuse at the company came to light.
