Luckily, Sony had learned from its previous mistakes, as the PlayStation 4 was critically acclaimed, showing that it was now more consumer friendly than ever before, while also being praised for supporting independent game developers.

The PlayStation 4 was a massive leap in generational development, as the console had better performance and fidelity than its predecessors thanks to the new APU, rather than the infamous cell micro architecture. The console saw various iterations of its design like the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro, the latter of which supported 4K resolution. Although, it is worth noting that thePS4 Pro could not play 4K movies, which sparked debate among the community at the time of its release.
