‘s launch in November was met with a lot of criticism, most of which was aimed at its litany of bugs and performance issues. The developer has put out updates that address some of these problems, but more work needed to be done. And while its effects have yet to be tested, Rockstar just released yet another huge update for the bundle, which addresses dozens and dozens of different glitches on all platforms.
The patch notes state at the top that it has “improved game performance across all platforms and graphic modes” and “stability improvements.” The game was widely panned for its uneven performance on all systems from the PlayStation 5 to the Nintendo Switch. Digital Foundry even suggested that PS5 owners play the PS4 version on their PS5 to get a better (but not perfect) experience, which is not a good sign. It was also prone to crashing, so it’s possible that is what the “stability improvements” are partially meant to address.
These are vague changes, but they came with many, many other more specific notes that touch on everything from textures on certain signs to achievements not unlocking. It’s a lot, but the game had a lot of room for improvement. It’s also impossible to judge whether or not all of these changes have a noticeable effect on the game. And, given the sheer amount of shortcomings, it’s unlikely to fix every one of them. However, this is just one more step Rockstar is taking to right some of its wrongs.
