GTA V, which arrives on current generation platforms on March 15, 2022, loads around 3 times faster than its PS4 version, VGC has found.
In our testing, which saw us booting the game from the main menu into the story mode, we found that the PS5 version loaded in around 27 seconds, whereas the PS4 version takes over a minute and a half.
While the PS5 version doesn’t quite load as quickly as many other flagship titles on the system, such as Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which can load the entire game in a few seconds, it’s still a huge improvement.

Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online are due to release to the public on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on March 15. The full GTA V package been discounted by 75% on PS5, and 50% on Xbox Series X|S.
This appears to be due to a previously announced promotion, which sees GTA Online available for PlayStation Plus subscribers to claim for free on PlayStation 5 for the next three months.
The PlayStation 5 version of Grand Theft Auto V’s “Story Mode” is currently listed for pre-order for just £8.75 / $9.99 on the PlayStation Store.
However, on Xbox Series X/S the Story Mode and GTA Online costs £17.49 / $19.99, while GTA Online is available separately for £8.99 / $9.99 (and requires Xbox Live Gold).
This means to buy both modes, PlayStation 5 owners will only have to spend £8.75 / $9.99,
