To make the chats more private, WhatsApp had introduced the View Once media feature which allows users to send images and videos that disappear once the user opens the message and exits the media viewer. This also means, “Once they exit the media viewer, the media will no longer be visible in that chat and they can't view it again. View once photos and videos won't be saved to the recipient's Photos or Gallery, and they can't forward them.”
Not just that, WhatsApp says that on phones, taking a photo means it will take up storage space forever. This View Once feature ensures that the messages are private as well as storage space in the phone does not get full.
However, every new feature has its downside too! Though the View Once Feature of WhatsApp is aimed at providing greater privacy, there could be times when it is misused. For example, in case a sender shares offensive photos or videos while keeping the View Once feature, these won't be included in the backup. In such cases, WhatsApp provides you with an option to report the sender if you find it abusive or derogatory. Here is all you need to do.
The process to report a WhatsApp view once message on iPhone is similar to an Android.
Just open WhatsApp and go to the view once chats to report media. However, here you will find the three dot-menu at the bottom of the screen.
Now, select the Report contact option.
