If Kaeya is going to form the cornerstone of your team, you should always include Xingqiu in the party if he's available. At four stars, he's easier than most characters to obtain, and his abilities synergize extremely well with Kaeya.
Xingqiu's elemental skill strikes quickly and applies Hydro, setting Kaeya up to freeze enemies with his own skill. Better yet, Xingqiu's elemental burst allows Kaeya's sword strikes to deal Hydro damage, making Kaeya a one-man freeze machine.
If you don't have Xingqiu, any Hydro character can prime enemies for freezing, especially catalyst wielders like Mona or Barbara, but Xingqiu is the most efficient choice.

This F2P-friendly team focuses on keeping Kaeya in the fight as long as possible, switching to other characters only to deploy their skills as needed. Kaeya attacks relentlessly, tagging in Xingqiu to deploy Rainscreen as soon as its cooldown expires. Barbara provides healing, bolstered by the team's Hydro resonance, and can apply Hydro damage in emergencies using her catalyst weapons.
