Frances Townsend is leaving Activision Blizzard

As reported by the Wall Street Journal, the exec departed the firm on Friday, September 30th. Townsend joined Activision Blizzard in March 2021 having previously worked as a homeland security advisor for former president George W Bush.
Though she is leaving the company, Townsend will continue to serve as a senior advisor to both the board and CEO Robert Kotick.
In the internal email that announced Townsend's departure, Kotick said that she "tirelessly and successfully navigated a challenging time for the company with leadership, conviction, and grace.”
During her tenure at Activision Blizzard, Townsend came under fire for calling the lawsuit brought against the Call of Duty giant for historic harassment and discrimination "meritless and irresponsible" though it is likely that these words were actually penned by Kotick.
