Marvel Entertainment will be designing special player cards in FIFA 23‘s Ultimate Team mode.
FUT Heroes cards, which were first introduced in FIFA 22, celebrate classic players and iconic moments that cemented them as heroes among their club’s supporters.
Heroes cards will be returning in FIFA 23, but will now also be getting special illustrated versions when the game’s World Cup mode launches on November 11.
According to EA, base versions of FUT Heroes will be available when FIFA is released on September 30, while each FUT Hero will get their own special illustrated version when the World Cup mode is added.
While the base versions of each FUT Hero celebrate memorable moments from their club careers, the World Cup versions will celebrate key moments in their international careers.
The World Cup versions will also feature better stats then their base counterparts.
The Marvel collaboration will include other items including tifos, kits and balls, and there will also be an online Marvel Heroes comic book featuring the players.
“This collaboration between two of the world’s largest entertainment brands will bring some of the game’s fan favourites to the game and celebrate their larger-than-life cult hero status alongside the amazing artists at Marvel,” an EA statement reads.
The four FUT Heroes currently confirmed are Yaya Touré, Park Ji-Sung, Ricardo Carvalho and Claudio Marchisio, with more to be confirmed later.
Last week EA detailed the changes coming to FIFA 23’s Ultimate Team mode, including a new FUT Moments mode and a refreshed chemistry system.
FUT Moments is a new scenario-based single-player mode that allows players to relive some of football’s greatest moments, with flexible match lengths and squad requirements.
