It was very atmospheric puzzle game, which I reviewed and gave score of 5/5.
Is the sequel any better? TO THE SEAS FAR: Changing Tides is very much like the first game; player has to maneuver the ship across the sea and do puzzles to open blocked pathways. The ship gets new upgrades along the way so it can go even underwater this time. I found the gameplay being very simple and after learning how the ship is controlled it became easy to sail.
The ship can be powered by the sails or burning materials found in the bottom of the sea. There is a sonar scanner that shows when there’s materials in the bottom, making it easy to collect them. Graphically the game looks almost the same than the first one, its very simple and clean.
Overall gameplay and controls are easy, nothing special to mention. THE VERDICT FAR: Changing Tides is nice little puzzle-adventure game, that is about 2-3 hours long. It’s relaxing and easy going, just perfect size to play through one sitting.
