A modder has decided to turn the Commonwealth of Fallout 4 into some kind of volcanic wasteland. The Fallout series is known for its interesting and bizarre vaults, and the games are also noteworthy for their landscapes obliterated by a nuclear war that left in its wake a desolate world full of mutated beasts and anarchic societies. Once players leave the relative safety of their underground dwellings, they venture out to greet the remains of the Commonwealth.
While the vanilla experience alone is more than enough to get fans invested, there are plenty of unique Fallout 4 mods out there that offer up even more content, such as new creatures or a custom story built from scratch. Of course, there are even those people in the community who will change the visuals of Fallout 4 almost entirely, offering up something that gives a more unique look to what players are used to, perhaps even turning it into a different game.
Fallout 4 Mod Overhauls Stealth Combat, Makes It More Realistic
That's what user Delicious Vegetable on Nexus Mods has done, at least. As spotted by DSO Gaming, a new mod for Fallout 4 called «Vulkan — Landscape Retexture» has emerged recently that, as the name suggests, adds new textures to the landscape. In this case, it turns the Commonwealth into a scorched wasteland, covered in burning magma and ash, with vegetation «clinging to life.» According to the description, it is meant to represent the aftermath of a devastating volcanic eruption that occurred just outside Boston, where the game takes place.
