Microsoft has brought several promising new features to Windows 11 including new Task Manager UI, App Folders in Start Menu, Overflow Menu in Taskbar and so on. The tech giant has now enabled tabs in File Explorer with the Windows 11 22H2 update, however, many of you might not like it. The tabbed UI in File Explorer is raw, buggy, and lacks many features. To disable the tabbed UI in Windows 11 2H22 File explorer; start with downloading ViveTool from GitHub and unpack the files.
Now, click on the Win + X tabs and select Terminal (Admin).
Next, switch Windows Terminal to Command Prompt profile by clicking Ctrl + Shift + 2 or you can click the arrow-down button at the top of the window.
Head to the folder comprising the extracted files using the CD command. For example, if you have extracted ViveTool to C:\Vive, then type CD C:\Vive.
Now, Type vivetool /disable /id:37634385 and Enter.
Again, type vivetool /disable /id:36354489 and Enter.
Once done, restart your computer and the Tabbed UI will be disabled.
If you want to access the tabbed File Explorer, you can follow the above mentioned steps and replace disable with enable in the commands on steps 5 and 6.
