We finally have a launch date for Nexon’s cool-looking fighting game DNF Duel. As revealed by the publisher this past weekend, the Dungeon Fighter Online spin-off will jump into the ring on June 28, launching on PlayStation and PC (Steam) platforms. A price point was not announced.
The short trailer above gives us a lightning look at some of the game’s eccentric cast of characters, pulled from the Korean MMO’s class system. The trailer winds up with the first glimpse of an as-yet-unnamed new fighter, which fans believe is DNF Duel‘s take on Mechanic. They seem a tad overdressed for the job, honestly, but perhaps they’re a “Mechanic” in the Charles Bronson sense. Wouldn’t that be neat?
DNF Duel will be entering a very crowded fighting game market, standing against titles such as Tekken 7, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and the upcoming Street Fighter 6. It also appears that, despite being on the market, DNF Duel did not make the cut for this summer’s EVO 2022 festivities. Hopefully, the new game will have a spot at the scene in the form of a side-tourney. It could really help put eyes on the contender. Having developers Arc System Works and Eighting in its corner will help it get its foot in the door.
DNF Duel launches June 28 on PlayStation and PC. I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t get another beta before then. In the meantime, be sure to check out the character trailers for Berserker, Grappler, Hitman, Inquisitor, Striker, Ranger, Dragon Knight, Vanguard, Kunoichi, Crusader, and Ghostblade.
