We are almost a month away from the release of Digimon Survive after four long years of development. The survival strategy RPG has been struck with numerous delays thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic and swapping dev teams, but Digimon Survive now has a hard release date that fans can look forward to.
And as we approach that July release date, Bandai Namco is treating us to ever more info on Digimon Survive. The gameplay revealed last month showcased Digimon Survive's tactical combat, while this month we're getting a trailer that reveals Survive's story, characters, and mechanics.

Digimon Survive starts with a typical setup for a summer horror film. A group of teenagers all go to a summer camp in the mountains when they suddenly find themselves surrounded by a strange fog. Monsters lurk out there, but thankfully the children all pair up with powerful Digimon to help them escape and return to their own realities.
Outside of combat, Digimon Survive will feature decision-based story gameplay where the wrong choice can lead to dire consequences. You'll also need to use your phone to see past illusions and uncover anomalies.
Takuma seems to be the natural leader of the gang, while, Kaito, Shuuji, and Aoi are somewhat less enthused with fighting terrifying monsters in a fog. You'll have to work together in tactical combat to escape the fog and save each other.
In addition to showcasing the tactical combat, today's trailer also showed us the multiple evolutions that Digimon can attain throughout Digimon Survive.
