Another week, another round of Season 17 reveals from Bungie in its weekly blog post. As the current Destiny 2 season nears its conclusion, Bungie has begun to outline a bunch of the things players can look forward to next, including a ton of sandbox changes like the rework to using weapons in the air through the new Airborne Effectiveness stat. This week, Bungie even revealed the Season 17 ritual weapon, a legendary machine gun known as Chain of Command.
In addition, this week's blog post also outlined the annual Guardian Games event, a Destiny 2 version of the Olympic Games. For 2022, Bungie has made a number of tweaks to the event through three new playlists called Recreational, Training, and Competitive. Essentially, this is Bungie's way of bringing back the fan favorite strike scoring system from the original Destiny, perhaps as a precursor to bringing it back in full.
