Deathloop released last fall and, for the most part, has been silent since then. That’s somewhat surprising for a game that seemingly dominated State of Play after State of Play, event after event, prior to its release last year. And it’s doubly interesting to think about when the game that dominated so much of Sony’s marketing technically being a Microsoft game.
The developer of Deathloop, Arkane, is part of Bethesda, and the shock and awe of this acquisition has slowly gone down. It’s reaching the point where players want to see games, and there are a couple of Bethesda Xbox exclusives in development. Starfield may be the big game this year, but Arkane’s Redfall is also highly anticipated. It’s probably not the only Arkane game this year, though, as Deathloop will probably hit Xbox consoles too.
The Best Trinkets in Deathloop
Earlier today, it was announced that former PlayStation exclusive Bugsnax was launching on Game Pass on April 28. This isn’t likely to be the last game, especially considering Microsoft’s acquisitions. Deathloop’s timed exclusivity ends on September 14, 2022, and while it’s not likely to launch on that exact day and date, Microsoft will likely put it on Game Pass as soon as possible. This happening before the end of the year seems likely.
Deathloop’s popularity and rave reviews will mean it’ll be a big launch on Game Pass, and it’ll be interesting to see what else, if anything, comes to the game at launch. Many will no doubt play it if they haven’t on PS5, but it would also make sense for Microsoft/Arkane to incentivize it a little more. Deathloop hasn’t gotten DLC, but it very well could to coincide with its Xbox release.
After all, alongside Bugsnax’s Game Pass release is the Isle of BIGsnax update.
