Cyberpunk 2077 has just received its massive 1.6 update , also serving as a foundation for future major patches. However, the long-awaited New Game Plus mode still isn't coming anytime soon, as the dev explains it's an "incredibly complex feature to make."
Speaking with fans on Twitter, CDPR's lead level designer Miles Tost shared some additional details about NG+, something frequently asked for by the Cyberpunk 2077 community. He says such a feature is tough to implement because the game is very story-oriented, with cinematic beats that fans don't take into consideration.

New Game Plus "is an incredibly complex feature to make" that would require rebalancing the entire game with tons of various tweakings. For instance, Tost referred to plenty of V's skill checks in gameplay and dialogs throughout the story, which would simply break an already predefined balance for your perks.
Other complicated issues are V's advanced cyberware implants early in the game, which simply don't fit in many scenes like your first visit to Vik's clinic. Such cutscenes may potentially need to be reworked entirely. The same is also true for all your vehicles, some of which are story-related and therefore would be obtained by the players twice.
Tost agrees none of these things are impossible, but there is a lot more work to be done than one may think at first glance. "It's sadly not a matter of just allowing you to start a new game with your existing V and calling it a day. We're listening and investigating. No promises, however," he said.
