The mobile version of Chrono Trigger, Square Enix’s classic time-hopping JRPG, has just been updated with a raft of new tweaks that are designed to make it more palatable for modern gamers.
The game now supports full screen play, up to a resolution of 21:9. So that’s nice. The controls have also had some tinkering, and there’ll be an exclamation mark prompt for interactive elements.
Auto-battles have also been sped up, letting you zoom through the scraps 1.5 times faster than before. Because who wants to actually see what happens in a fight?
You’ve also got 20 save slots to play around with, if you like having multiple playthroughs running at the same time. There’s a new extras menu as well, that unlocks once you’ve finished the game and lets you peruse artwork, endings and more.
The upgraded version of Chrono Trigger is available to download from the Play Store by clicking here. It’ll set you back $9.99, and it’s worth checking out if you’ve never played the game before.
