The Chrisley family, famous for their reality show Chrisley Knows Best, is returning to television after taking a brief hiatus, and the patriarch of the family, Todd Chrisley, will have the spotlight to himself on his new dating show where he will be the host. The family was introduced to the world in 2014 through Chrisley Knows Best, in which viewers got to enjoy seeing the lifestyle of the main members of the Chrisley family and Todd's strict parenting style. Eventually, in 2014, Savannah and Chase Chrisley got their own spin-off show, Growing Up Chrisley, that focused on embracing adulthood and proving to Todd that they did not have to rely on his help or wealth.
Both reality series ran until the end of 2021, and fans were left inquiring about whether the shows would return or whether they had been canceled. One of the main reasons there was uncertainty about the renewal of the shows laid in the legal trouble the family was facing. In 2019, Todd and Julie were indicted for alleged tax evasion, wire fraud and conspiracy bank fraud. During this time, the couple was also sued for libel and defamation by Amy Doherty-Henize after the Chrisleys accused her of misusing tax dollars. The legal trouble continued in 2021 as the couple had to appear for court hearings for their tax fraud indictment. Both of the family's shows aired during this time, but once those seasons ended, there was no telling what would become of the beloved reality series.
