BREAKING: Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella son no more, passes away at 26

Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, and his wife Anu, lost their son on Monday morning, i.e., February 28. Microsoft in a communication to its executive staff informed that Nadella's son, Zain Nadella, has passed away. He was 26 years old and was born with cerebral palsy. Microsoft did not reveal the exact reasons behind his death and has asked the company employees as well as media to give them space to grief privately.

The report comes from Bloomberg, confirming that Nadella's son has apssed away at the age of 26. Satya Nadella has been the CEO of Microsoft since 2014 and has been responsible for overseeing the launch of some of the recent Microsoft products, including Windows 11. He was recently awarded the Padma Bhushan alongside Google's Sundar Pichai and Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekharan.

Satya Nadella is yet to announce this officially via any of his social media channels.

Ever since he took on the role of Microsoft's CEO in 2014 from Steve Ballmer, Nadella has focused Microsoft on designing products that can better serve users with disabilities. He often used to cite the lessons he learned while raising and supporting Zain.

In 2021, the Children’s Hospital, where Zain Nadella received much of his treatment, joined the Nadellas to establish the Zain Nadella Endowed Chair in Pediatric Neurosciences, as part of Seattle Children’s Center for Integrative Brain Research.

“Zain will be remembered for his eclectic taste in music, his bright sunny smile and the immense joy he brought to his family and all those who loved him,” Jeff Sperring, CEO of Children’s Hospital, wrote in a message to his Board, which was shared with Microsoft executives.
