Former The Bachelorette season 17 lead Katie Thurston admitted she believes Love Is Blind has more genuine connections than the ABC reality series. Viewers were first introduced to Katie over a year ago while she was competing for Matt James on The Bachelor season 25. Katie quickly became one of the most memorable contestants from his season when she pulled out a vibrator when she exited the limo on night one.
Even though Katie didn't receive the first impression rose, she and Matt developed a close bond throughout filming. When it was time for Katie's first one-on-one, Matt realized they shared more of a friendship and sent her home. A few weeks later, Katie was announced as The Bachelorette and immediately began filming her season. After her season was complete, Katie got engaged to Blake Moynes, who also appeared on The Bachelorette season 16. However, their love didn't last long, and they ended their engagement a few months after the season finale aired.

Katie shared her opinion on Love Is Blind season 2 in the comment section of one of their recent Instagram photos, expressing how she believes the connections seem more real on the Netflix series compared to her former show (via People). "This photo is everything I needed after that rollercoaster of a finale," she wrote. In a second comment, the 31-year-old continued, "Oh I'm obsessed with this show [...] genuine connections without the distractions of made-up drama and field games."
