The constant leaks and rumours around the iPhone 15 series is increasingly indicating a big price hike. A recent iPhone 15 price leak says the cost differential between the iPhone 15 Pro models over the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, will be massive. Apple is expected to increase the price of this year's iPhone 15 Pro models to widen the gap with the iPhone 15 Plus, said MacRumors, quoting a source on Weibo. However, the exact potential price hike is not clear yet. Another reason for the hike can be the increasing manufacturing cost.
The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max prices start at $999 and $1099 respectively. This means any price hike will make iPhone 15 Pro model cross the $1000 mark for the first time, the report mentioned. On the other hand, a previous leak suggested that Apple is not happy about the slow sales logged by the iPhone 14 Plus, which is priced at $899. Hence, Apple may re-evaluate the strategy for Pro and non-Pro models of the iPhone 15 series.
This may well suggest that the iPhone 15 Plus could well be cheaper than the current iPhone 14 Plus.
Leaks and rumours suggest that iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models will gain several new features including a 48MP camera sensor, USB-C charging port, as well as the Dynamic Island, which has been limited to the Pro models in iPhone 14. Apple likely wants to separate iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max from the standard models by a wide margin in terms of some exclusive features including, the 6x periscope lens or the new 3nm Apple A17 chipset. Moreover, the Pro models will be made of titanium cases instead of stainless steel. The iPhone 15 Pro models are expected to have virtual volume and power buttons with haptic feedback, similar to the Home button on iPhone
