Amid the rumors and reports of Apple skipping the October launch event and launching the new iPads and MacBook via press releases, now it is being said that the company can launch these products in the last week of October. Along with the iPads and MacBooks, Apple is also expected to release iPadOS 16.1 in the week of October 24, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said.
"iPadOS 16.1 is on track to be released the week of Oct. 24th — barring any new bugs or issues. Apple has historically held launches the week of its earnings calls in October," Gurman tweeted. While another tweet by Apple Track read, "Apple may be releasing new products the week of October 24 new iPads and Macs are expected. iPadOS 16.1 is rumored to launch around that time, too..."
It can be known that Apple is expected to launch M2 and M2 Pro Mac minis, M2 Pro and M2 Max 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, and M2 11-inch and 12.9 inch iPad Pros, among others in the month of October. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, as these new products are not a major departure for Apple, the company may not consider organising another highly polished launch event.
"None of these new products is a major departure for Apple. They'll get some improved specifications and a chip that was already announced at a formal event in June at WWDC 2022. That has me thinking: Does Apple really have enough here to make it worth pulling together another highly polished launch event?," Gurman said in his Power On newsletter.
He further added, "It seems unlikely. Apple may ultimately end up feeling differently, but I think the company (as of now) is more likely to release its remaining 2022 products via press releases, updates to its website and briefings with select members of the press—rather
