Apex Legends season 14 will introduce Vantage to the Apex Games, a recon character whose kit is all about location and sniping. Vantage's abilities in Apex Legends see her gain additional information when aiming at targets, relocating to find better ground, and whipping out a sniper rifle as her ultimate. Indeed, at first thought, this sounds pretty terrifying. If Vantage is to Sniper Rifles what Rampart is to LMGs, then her ultimate Sniper Rifle could, in theory, be the Sheila of sniper rifles. However, that's not the case whatsoever.
It is worth noting how Vantage's ultimate differs from other sniper rifles and, indeed, from other Apex Legends Ultimates. For example, Vantage's Sniper's Mark Ultimate is the only one in-game that does not have to be fully charged to use. At full charge, Vantage's personal sniper rifle has five shots, but if she pulls it out at, say, 40%, then she'll have two shots for it. This is unique, but so is its role among other sniper rifles.

It should be noted that Respawn did, at one point, test Vantage's sniper rifle as an amped-up version of the Kraber, the company revealed during a recent press event, but decided against it and reasonably so. The sheer idea sounds terrifying enough. The Kraber will always be the high-skill, high-reward scenario weapon, but Vantage's sniper is not that. It's more or less a support weapon.
By not needing a full charge, players can pull it out and hit once. This still changes the flow of the battle. Vantage's ultimate will hit for 50 damage the first time it hits a foe, and subsequent damage from it will be 100 to the same target. What's more important, though, is that this will mark targets for 10 seconds. Players can't see
