Another Obsidian developer has suggested that the studio may be soon ready to show off one of the games it currently has in development.
Hannah Kennedy, a concept artist at Obsidian who previously worked on The Outer Worlds tweeted: “Man… it’s gunna be extremely cool when I can finally share what I’ve been working on for the last 2 years.”
This was followed by the eyes emoji, which is regularly used on Twitter to denote that the poster has a secret they’d like to share.
Following this, designer Josh Sawyer replied to Kennedy with the ‘prayer’ emoji.
This follows news last week of Sawyer responding to an Xbox Wire tweet which suggested Obsidian could appear at the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase. Kennedy retweeted this tweet.
Kennedy’s previous work on The Outer Worlds could suggest that she’s working on the sequel, but as she says that she’s been working on it “for the last 2 years”, this is unlikely, as when The Outer Worlds 2 was announced, Obsidian made it clear that the game is “nowhere near ready” and that “the only thing they have finished is the titles”.
This makes it more likely that Kennedy is working on Avowed, which is understood to be in at least a semi-playable state.

In October last year, Windows Central reported that the game will feature two-handed first-person combat, similar to Microsoft stable-mate Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
“If The Outer Worlds was Obsidian’s take on a Fallout-style game, Avowed is undoubtedly Obsidian’s take on The Elder Scrolls,” Windows Central wrote at the time.
The game reportedly features swimming gameplay and may include some destructible environments too.
