Team Ninja has released a new trailer for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty which sheds some more light on the game’s story.
The trailer also shows off some action scenes, which were supervised by Kenji Tanigaki, the action director of the Rurouni Kenshin movie series.
According to the studio: “The original story follows a nameless militia soldier who is faced with a conspiracy surrounding a potent elixir with mysterious powers.
“Along the way, the soldier not only encounters countless demons and monsters, but famous warlords and military masterminds from history, including Liu Bei, Cao Cao, and Sun Jian.”
It was also announced that anyone who buys the game by March 16 will get special ‘Baihu Armour’ as an early purchase bonus, while anyone who pre-orders the game digitally will also receive ‘Zhuque Armour’ as a pre-order bonus.
Announced during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase in June, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is billed as a joint creation from Team Ninja producers Fumihiko Yasuda (Nioh) and Masaaki Yamagiwa (Bloodborne).
“Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty follows the dramatic, action-packed story of a nameless militia soldier fighting for survival in a dark fantasy version of the Later Han Dynasty where demons plague the Three Kingdoms,” reads an official product description.
“Players fight off deadly creatures and enemy soldiers using swordplay based on the Chinese martial arts, attempting to overcome the odds by awakening the true power from within.”
The game is due to be released on March 3, 2023 on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC (via Windows and Steam). It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one on console and PC.
