New 90 Day Fiancé star Memphis Smith recently commented on Geoffrey Paschel's conviction while talking about the seriousness of domestic abuse. Geoffrey's charges involved domestic abuse, aggravated kidnapping, and interference with emergency calls. In February 2022, he was sentenced to 18 years in prison without parole. While a few fans and Varya Malina still think he is innocent, many 90 Day Fiancé viewers celebrated the verdict.
Memphis is from a completely different season, but there could be a specific reason why she is talking about domestic abuse. Last month, Memphis' mother, Deborah, commented on one of Hamza's Instagram posts and claimed he is abusive. When a 90 Day Fiancé fan asked for an explanation, she mentioned that things on TV were different from what happened. Deborah added that there are always two sides to every story. Deborah's comment surfaced online in February 2022, when 90 Day Fiancé viewers noted that Memphis and Hamza weren't following each other on Instagram.

After accusing Hamza of domestic abuse, Memphis is now talking about Geoffrey's case. In one of her recent Instagram Stories, the new TLC star wrote, "The Paschel case related to 90 day fiancé is super sad and sick." Memphis then claimed that countless other people have gone through similar experiences but couldn't do anything because "cops weren't notified." She shared that such things mostly go unnotified because victims are usually scared of the consequences and are afraid that people will not "believe them." Memphis concluded her Instagram Story by telling people to open their eyes and see the "reality."
