Maybe It's Good Colin Trevorrow's Star Wars 9 Didn't Happen After All
Colin Trevorrow's script for Star Wars 9 sparkled a lot of interest in what Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker could have been had the director not been fired, but Jurassic World Dominion suggests going in another direction may have been the right call by Lucasfilm after all. Initially, the plan was for each film in Disney's Star Wars sequel trilogy to be helmed by a different director. However, a couple of months before the premiere of Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi, it was announced that Colin Trevorrow was no longer going to directEpisode IX and that Star Wars: The Force Awakens' J.J. Abrams would return to conclude the trilogy.
