Why Elizabeth and Will’s Pirates of the Caribbean 5 Cameo Failed
Despite 2017's Dead Men Tell No Tales technically bringing back the original Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy heroes Elizabeth and Will, the pair’s appearance was almost worse than not having a cameo from them at all. The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise grew to rely on Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow more and more as it wore on, but the original trilogy’s Elizabeth Swan and Will Turner remained firm favorites nonetheless. However, their much-vaunted return in Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales amounted to little more than an over-hyped letdown for various reasons.
