Yellowjackets Star Melanie Lynskey Explains Show’s Surprise Popularity
Melanie Lynskey, star of the showYellowjackets, opens up on why she thinks the series has become so popular. With Yellowjackets season 1 just having ended, the show proved to be a success right from the start and was given the green light for season 2 in December. Yellowjackets tells the story of a high school girls soccer team in 1996 that, while on the way to a national championship tournament, gets in a plane crash and winds up lost in the Canadian wilderness. Their traumatic story is told via flashbacks in tandem with the modern-day story of four of the survivors as adults. One of those survivors, Shauna, is portrayed by Lynskey. Her co-stars include Tawny Cypress, Juliette Lewis, and Christina Ricci.
