Why Warner Bros Cancelled DC's Batgirl Movie
It has been announced that Warner Bros. has canceled the upcoming DCEU project Batgirl, citing several reasons for the decision. Batgirl was set for a late-2022 release from directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. The film was set to star Leslie Grace in the titular role and include a supporting cast of Michael Keaton returning to his role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. Among the rest of the cast was Brenden Fraser, the film's villain Firefly, and J.K Simmons reprising his role as Commissioner Gordon.
