Ubisoft says Assassin's Creed Shadows leak is "unfortunate"

French publishing giant Ubisoft has said that the leak of Assassin's Creed Shadows is "unfortunate". In a post on the official Assassin's Creed subreddit, the company has also asked that players who do have their copies of the game already do not spoil the experience for everyone else.

Assassin's Creed Shadows is set to come out on March 20th, but some consumers have seemingly managed to get their hands on the action romp ahead of street date; the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit has seen posts from people who acquired the title for as much a $100 on an auction site, for example.  "We are aware players have accessed Assassin’s Creed Shadows ahead of its official release," Ubisoft said.  "The development team is still working on patches to prepare the experience for launch, and any footage shared online does not represent the final quality of the game. "Leaks are unfortunate and can diminish the excitement for players," Ubisoft added. "We kindly ask you not to spoil the experience for others.

Thank you to our community for already taking steps to protect everyone from spoilers. "Stay in the shadows, avoid the spoilers, and keep an eye on our channel for more official surprises in the coming weeks!

March 20 will be here soon!" Disclaimer: Alex Calvin is a freelance journalist and writer who has previously worked with Ubisoft on Assassin's Creed: The 15th Anniversary
