Thankfully the greens kept coming, quickly narrowing things down until, after a brief pause because no, that's surely not right I found Saturday's winning word.

This is a kind of bolt or fastener used to hold two pieces of metal together. The end is hammered down, not screwed in. Could also be anything that keeps someone so thoroughly they don't feel they can move.

No, there is not a double letter in today's puzzle. A good starting word can be the difference between victory and defeat with the daily puzzle, but once you've got the basics, it's much easier to nail down those Wordle wins.
