The Substance Theatrical Rerelease Date Set Amid Oscars Buzz

Everyone must respect the balance as Mubi’s biggest film ever returns to theaters. The theatrical rerelease date for at over 350 theaters nationwide this January has been announced.

The Substance, starring Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley, was named one of 2024’s greatest new movies. While the body horror received divisive reactions, it debuted to widespread praise and even won the best screenplay award at Cannes.

The feature also gave Moore (who starred as the fading celebrity Elisabeth Sparkle) her first major acting award at the Golden Globes.

The Substance stars Dennis Quaid as Harvey, Edward Hamilton Clark as Fred, Gore Abrams as Oliver, and more. It is written and directed by French filmmaker Coralie Fargeat.

The Substance debuted in theaters on September 19, 2024, and was made available for streaming on October 31. Now, one of the most talked-about horror titles of the 21st century is coming back to US theaters starting January 17, according to IndieWire.

Capcom has released a new gameplay trailer for Fatal Fury’s Mai, who is part of Street Fighter VI’s Year 2 Character Pass. The Blood of Dawnwalker is a new RPG from former The Witcher 3 devs

Back in October, Bandai Namco and new studio Rebel Wolves agreed a publishing deal for Rebel Wolves new RPG, at the time named Dawnwalker. Rebel Wolves was founded in 2022 by the game director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz. He has been joined by other CD Projekt RED alumni, including Chief Publishing Officer Tomasz Tinc, and Narrative Director Jakub Szamałek. Today, the first cinematic and gameplay teaser for The Blood of Dawnwalker has been released.
