Gabriel Basso is ready for more action in. In an interview with GamesRadar+, Basso spoke about how the success of Season 1 allowed for an expanded Season 2, which included more action sequences.
Basso mentioned how the stunt team had more time to choreograph bigger fight scenes. “We weren’t able to get away with stuff like it on Season 1, we didn’t have time to put thought into it,” Basso said. “Josh, our fight choreographer, worked really hard on it, so it was just great to see everybody and their visions come together to do something impactful.
They were a lot of work.” In the new episodes, there is a basement brawl that Basso calls his favorite fight of the season. The sequence was so intense that it led to several injuries, one of which involved Basso’s head. “I’d say my favorite is the basement fight,” Basso said. “It feels very grounded, and you feel the hits.
We took some actual spills that hurt a little bit. When I kick off the cupboard, we weren’t supposed to go to the ground. I think I hit my head, cracked it on the wall behind me, but the stuntman and I just sort of stayed in it, and I slammed him against the breakaway wall.” Basso reprises his role as Peter Sutherland, an FBI agent now working as a Night Agent who embarks on a dangerous mission that takes him across the globe.
The Netflix logline reads: “Working in the secretive organization Night Action in Season 2 will push Peter into a world where danger is everywhere and trust is in short supply.” The Night Agent Season 2 ensemble includes Luciane Buchanan, Amanda Warren, Arienne Mandi, Louis Herthum, Berto Colon, Michael Malarkey, Keon Alexander, Brittany Snow, Teddy Sears, Navid Negahban, Rob Heaps, Marwan Kenzari, Elise Kibler, and Dikran Tulaine.
