The Apprentice Director Faces Groping Allegations, Dropped by CAA

comingsoon.net

director Ali Abbasi has abruptly parted ways with his U.S. reps at CAA, Entertainment 360, and the law firm Granderson Des Rochers amidst allegations of Abbasi groping someone at an afterparty.

According to a recent report from Deadline, Abbasi was at a Golden Globes afterparty held by CAA when an inebriated Abbasi “aggressively groped an A-list, CAA-repped actor.” It’s unclear exactly what happened, but Deadline’s report notes that the agency demanded an apology be made, and in the fallout, they eventually parted ways with the director.

Deadline’s report mentions that it’s not clear whether or not the director was explicitly forced out of the agency or not, but as of now, Abbasi is solely repped by UK-based group LARK.

The report also mentions that Abbasi is no longer working with PR firm The Lede Company, although that may be more due to his contract ending after The Apprentice came out.

Abbasi has not offered up any comment or statement on the issue, nor has he responded to any comment on the reported event that took place.
