has starred in several incredibly popular projects throughout his career, including a breakout role in the drama series Felicity and a starring role in the 2008 psychological horror The Strangers, both of which he said was an incredible experience.
Speaking to ComingSoon in a recent interview, Speedman opened up about his role in The Strangers, where he starred opposite Liv Tyler.
With the original film now getting remade in a new trilogy, Speedman said the original film was so effective because of Bryan Bertino’s writing and directing. “Honestly, I just think that’s Bryan Bertino, the guy who wrote it and directed it,” said Speedman. “When I read that script, it was sort of a jaw-dropping, simple story, but I read it, and I was terrified.
It just had a feel to it that I knew if we could get half of what was on the page on the screen, it would land with an audience.
Those are very tricky. We make a lot of horror movies that don’t get there. This one really did. We had Liv Tyler, too, with Bryan and me.
