The PlayStation Networkhas been down since at least 3 p.m. EST on February 7, and some fans are wondering if it's time to hunker down for a longer wait.
As the PlayStation community settles in to wait for Sony to restore PSN service, stories have cropped up about the infamous outage of 2011, when PSN was inaccessible for a whopping 23 days.
Sony has not made any statements on the current outage, besides letting fans know they know it's happening. On the Ask PlayStation X account, the company states: "" before directing fans to the official PlayStation status page.
At the time of this writing,all PSN capabilities are still down, and the outage seems to be affecting PSN worldwide. Lucky for PlayStation users, a PSN account is not essential for using PlayStation consoles and fans can still play their offline games without issue.
