MultiVersus to end service on May 30; Season 5 begins February 4

MultiVersus Season 5 will begin on February 4 and serve as the final season before the game ends service on May 30, publisher Warner Bros.

Games and developer Player First Games announced. It will continue to be playable offline after May 30 for users who have downloaded and installed the latest version of the game, but the game itself will no longer be available to download via digital stores.

Season 5 will add DC’s Aquaman and Looney Tunes’ Lola Bunny as new playable characters. All Season 5 content, including the new characters, will be earnable through gameplay.

Starting today, real money transactions will no longer be available for MultiVersus. Any remaining Gleamium (in-game currency) or character tokens can still be used to access in-game content until Season 5 ends.

MultiVersus is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Get the full message from the development team on the game’s end of service below.

As rumoured, The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 have returned to (official) PC stores. Kindly Uncle EA has taken a break from his busy layoff schedule to rustle up a pair of Legacy collections that include a bunch of DLC. Warner and DC Smash 'em up MultiVersus joins the pile of dead live service games
Warner Bros' licensed free-to-play fighting game MultiVersus - aka, the one where Velma Dinkley and Arya Stark can team up to kick Superman's face in - will no longer be playable online as of 30th May. It'll be pulled from Steam, the Epic Games Store and the PlayStation and Xbox stores at the end of its next season, though you'll still be able to get your fill of Bugs Bunny bashing offline against either friends or bots.

Warner Bros. says that's all, folks for Multiversus: The next season will be its last, but you'll be able to play offline 'for the foreseeable future'
Multiversus, the WB Games Smash Bros.-style brawler that was brave enough to explore what it would be like if Samurai Jack and LeBron James met on the field of battle, is approaching the end of its long, strange road. Earlier today, WB Games announced on X that the game's fifth season, beginning next week on February 4, will «serve as the final update.» It'll be brought offline and delisted from digital storefronts when the season ends on May 30, but WB Games says «players will be able to enjoy the game offline for the foreseeable future.»

Do you have any of those games it feels like only you remember? For me, it's Prisoner of War, a third-person stealth/adventure thing on the original Xbox that saw you play a captured WW2 pilot trying to break out of prisons like Stalag Luft and Colditz. It had some neat ideas for 2002: the prison camps were relatively open and they ran on a schedule. That meant once you had your objective—steal a document, get a disguise—you had all sorts of different routes to complete it, but you'd need to be back in bed by morning roll call.
