is making a new shark attack movie titled . Green is known for directing Frozen in 2010. Not to be confused with the 2013 Disney animated movie of the same name, Frozen follows three friends who become stranded in a chairlift overnight after a day of skiing, which then forces them to make some horrible life-or-death decisions in order to survive.
Green also created the Hatchet slasher films, as he directed both 2006’s Hatchet, 2010’s Hatchet II, and 2017’s Victor Crowley (the fourth movie in the franchise).
While B. J. McDonnell helmed 2013’s Hatchet III, Green still wrote the screenplay and produced the film. Now, per Deadline, Green is making The Ascent, which is the first title on a new international sales slate at the Simple House Films production banner.
Simple House Films is run by Addam Bramich, Ryan Hamilton, and Volodymyr Artemenko. “The picture follows a group of friends who arrive in Europe for a glamorous but daring destination wedding,” a description of The Ascent reads. “ The fun and games turn into a nightmare when they find themselves precariously suspended above shark-infested waters and in a battle for survival.” Artemenko said in a statement, “We are thrilled to have a platform to produce and deliver important stories to audiences and work with talented and creative individuals across the industry.
We are thrilled at the opportunity to launch an international sales unit into the marketplace and work alongside Anastazja Bankowska with the goal of delivering high-quality theatrical films to the marketplace’s global audience.” In addition to Frozen and the Hatchet movies, Green’s filmography includes 2000’s Coffee & Donuts, 2007’s Spiral, 2011’s Chillerama, 2014’s Digging Up the Marrow, and 2018’s For the Love of Halloween.
