In celebration of its 30th anniversary, Paramount Home Entertainment has announced the 4K release date of the newly remastered version of the classic 1995 comedy, starring Saturday Night Live alumni Chris Farley and David Spade.
“The film stars Farley and Spade in one of cinema’s funniest on-screen pairings as two drastically different personalities on a hellish road trip to save a family business,” reads the official synopsis. “It follows two ne’er-do-well traveling salesmen who hit the road to save the Callahan family’s auto parts business, resulting in one disastrously funny consequence after another.”
For the first time, the remastered version of Tommy Boy will be available to purchase on 4K Ultra HD in a 4K/Blu-ray Combo or a Limited-Edition SteelBook, starting on March 25, 2025. Both versions will include hours of legacy bonus content and access to a digital copy of the film.
Listed below are the included bonus features:
The 1995 buddy comedy was directed by Peter Segal (50 First Dates, The Longest Yard) from a screenplay written by Bonnie and Terry Turner, with SNL creator Lorne Michaels producing. Besides Farley and Spade, the film also starred Bo Derek, Julie Warner, Dan Aykroyd, Brian Dennehy, Rob Lowe, Sean McCann, Zach Grenier, James Blendick, William Patterson Dunlop, David Hemblen, Maria Vacratsis, Colin Fox, Jonathan Wilson, and Lorri Bagley. Despite underperforming at the box office and receiving mixed reviews during its theatrical run, the film eventually found success with its home video release.
