, the latest entry in the series, premiered its first trailer on Wednesday, teasing a story focused on two characters who must come together.
The next entry in the franchise also revealed its release date, with Assassin’s Creed Shadows available on November 15, 2024, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna, and PC and Mac. Subscribers to Ubisoft+ or purchasers of the game’s Ultimate Edition can play the game three days early.
After years of asking, fans will finally be able to play a game set in the era of 16th century Japan. The game’s story will feature intertwined narratives of Naoe, an adept shinobi assassin from the Iga Province, and Yasuke, a real-life samurai who became a legend in his own right for being the earliest African man to ever appear in Japan’s historical records and also becoming the first non-Japanese samurai.

According to Ubisoft, both Naoe and Yasuke have two different playstyles, with each character having their own progression path, skills to unlock, weapon options, and stats to track. The game will also feature a sizable open world to explore, complete with dynamic weather and changing seasons.
