Take-Two Interactive has several major releases lined up for 2025 across its multiple publishing labels, with Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 6 and 2K’s Borderlands 4, Mafia: The Old Country, and Civilization 7 all scheduled to release next year. As you’d expect, however, the company intends to space those releases apart, so that each game has the time to breathe and doesn’t end up cannibalizing the others’ sales.
Specifically, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick was recently asked by Variety about Grand Theft Auto 6 and Borderlands 4 in particular, and about how the company intends to plan both games’ releases. In response, Zelnick made it clear that Take-Two’s upcoming major releases won’t be releasing too clear to each other.
“I think it’s safe to say that we wouldn’t, and no one would, stack up huge releases unnecessarily,” he said.
Of the four aforementioned titles, Civilization 7, which is due out in February, is the only one with a firm release date. Grand Theft Auto 6 is due out in Fall 2025, while Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country have a general FY 2025/26 release window.
