Red Hook promised shortly before Darkest Dungeon 2 left early access that mod support would come to the game post-release, which occurred just over a year ago. This base will allow players to edit key files to change the majority of number-based gameplay values (such as for balance mods), create custom items (like new trinkets to match the best Darkest Dungeon 2 trinkets), and add new hero palettes.

There are a lot of other things that players like to do with modding, and Red Hook Studios wants to support those, including letting modders create custom characters.
