Co-op Minecraft Speedrun Record Is Now Under 2 Minutes

When you think of speedruns, you often think of classics like The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past or Mario Bros. Even FromSoftware titles are prime targets for speedrunners, with the current record for Elden Ring sitting below six minutes. Minecraft isn't always associated with the art of speedrunning, but that didn't stop YouTuber M8use and team from beating the co-op Minecraft speedrun record.

The previous record stood at five minutes and ten seconds, but the newly crowned record holders managed to beat it – with no glitches – and set a time of one minute and fifty six seconds. According to PCGamesN, this particular record run is built for a specific Minecraft seed on the Bedrock edition of the game.

M8use's video describes the task each player in the team has been assigned. It's a rigmarole, showing each player picking up resources, crafting, and tossing them in certain places for their teammates to pick up and use at a later time. It's really a well coordinated process which could be completely thrown off by one wrong step. Kudos to the team for pulling off this herculean task in under two minutes. Minecraft speedrunning has several categories, this record was set under the 'cooperative any% glitchless set seed 1.16.100+' category.
