While it has now surpassed its reported $200 million budget, Mufasa still has a ways to go to beat 2019’s The Lion King, as that ended its worldwide box office run with around $1.657 billion.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 came in second place on New Year’s Day with $8.95 million, per Deadline. With its total domestic gross now sitting at $138.5 million (worldwide is estimated to be around $210.6 million), Sonic the Hedgehog 3 could be the highest-grossing Sonic movie to date should it surpass Sonic the Hedgehog 2’s $405.4 million.

Elsewhere, Moana 2 brought in another $5.1 million, while A24’s Nosferatu made $4.96 million and the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown made $3.1 million.
