In doing so, he tries to change future events — especially tragedies — from happening. Every time he travels into the past, things inevitably change for his own fate and that of those around him. The manga was first published in 2017 and is currently ongoing. It won the Kodansha Manga Award for the shonen category in 2020, and has sold over 50 million copies so far.
Both a live-action movie and an anime series were released in 2021, and have become hugely popular in Japan and abroad. The anime was first announced on June 19, 2020, which is what the special series of posters is celebrating. A special event was held in Shibuya on that day as a 2nd “Memorial and Formation” live celebration, Many voice actors attended the live event, including Yuuki Shin (Takemichi Hanagaki), Yu Hayashi (Manjiro Sano,) Masaaki Mizunaka (Keisuke Bachi), Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Takashi Mitsuya), and Sho Karino (Chifuyu Matsuno).
