Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be here before the end of the month and will likely set all sorts of sales records and the like as soon as it arrives. An eventuality that will become even more likely if the rumors that some of the world's best-known footballers will be added to the game at some point are true.
The claim that Neymar, Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba, and a handful of other household names in the football world will be Call of Duty operators comes courtesy of Insider Gaming. The list of ten Modern Warfare 2 operators was initially leaked by TheGhostOfHope and has been backed up by the site. As for how and when the players will be used and implemented, that remains unclear.

With Modern Warfare 2 launching on October 28, and then Warzone 2.0 following that on November 16, a team-up with FIFA for the Qatar World Cup could be a very big deal. The tournament will kick off on November 20 giving Activision a unique opportunity for a Call of Duty launch and the biggest football tournament in the world to effectively run in tandem.
Crossovers have naturally become the lifeblood of battle royale games thanks to Fortnite, but finding ones that fit Warzone's aesthetic is harder to do. Dropping Naruto into Verdansk wouldn't really work. The Godzilla and King Kong crossover event kind of did though, and figuring out something that would include real people, even if they are footballers rather than soldiers, as opposed to animated characters and superheroes might be perfect for Modern Warfare 2.
